Daylight in TCU Online

TCU Online got a new look the weekend of May 12, 2018.

An improved interface, called the Daylight Experience, will bring crisper, cleaner icons and fonts. The Daylight interface has a responsive design that allows the display to adapt to different screen sizes. This means that TCU Online will look great on laptops, tablets, and smartphones. An improved instructor and student experience will also feature new links to common resources as well as upgraded navigation bars. Most importantly, the new Daylight user interface won’t change your workflow or tool options.

The Koehler Center is offering Information Sessions called “Daylight is coming” in March and April 2018 with both face-to-face and webinar options. Check the events page to learn more and register.  These information sessions will give a preview of the Daylight Experience with an opportunity for participants to ask questions; faculty, staff, and students are welcome to attend.

The slide deck and handout from the session are accessible below in case you couldn’t make a session – or want to learn more. Also included below is a couple minute overview video and webpage explaining the changes in more detail.

  • Fonts in User Settings:  Prior to Daylight, there were about 8-10 font options available to users within their Account Settings page. Now you can chose the standard font or Open Dyslexic only. The Open Dyslexic font is present for accessibility purposes. Users still have the ability to decide if they want to view text at various sizes. This was a conscious design decision with Daylight made for two main reasons: consistent look and feel in the platform, and the desire for the maximum amount of users to benefit from a great visual experience in Daylight.
