monthly updatesTCU uses TCU Online (also known as D2L Brightspace) to host our online and face-to-face classes. To keep up with the quick pace of change in online and face-to-face education, D2L has moved to a monthly update cycle called Continuous Delivery. This software development cycle is common among web applications and allows for newer features to be developed, tested, and implemented faster. This means that we get to see both newer features and improvements to existing features more than once a year.

Benefits to Monthly Updates (Continuous Delivery)

  • More frequent, less disruptive updates with no downtime
  • Access to newer features as soon as they are available, not once a year
  • A software design cycle that focuses on user input, meaning we can see which features we have requested and when they are implemented

When does this happen?

Monthly updates occur on the 4th Thursday of the month.

This page will be used to communicate upcoming changes to the D2L environment, including schedules and a list of highlights we think are important to share with students and faculty.
