Student access to TCU Online FAQ

I enrolled in a class, but am unable to access the course shell.

  • Students cannot access courses until 12:01 AM on the first day of the semester. If you try to access your course before this time, you will be not see your course.
  • Enrollments into TCU Online are not handled in real time; add/drops are handled a few times a day from the Registrar into TCU Online.
  • It’s also possible that your instructor is not using an online component for the course.  Start first by asking the instructor.

If 24 hours have passed since enrolling in a course, then you may report being unable access to a course, please contact elearning via email at elearning@tcu.edu and provide your TCU ID number, the course number and section of the course you are unable to access. Please ONLY notify elearning if you don’t have online access to a course after 24 hours of enrolling AND you have asked your instructor if they are using TCU Online for their course. 

I’m having trouble accessing via My.TCU, can I access TCU Online somewhere else?

Option 1

  1. Go to http://D2L.TCU.EDU
  2. Enter your TCU network credentials (the same you use for MyTCU)
  3. Select your course from the My Courses widget on the Homepage. Review the Locate & pin courses in TCU Online guide for help using the My Courses widget.

  1. Go to MY.TCU.EDU and enter your TCU network credentials
  2. Click the TCU Online link, then click the link to access your courses.

I am having password issues. Who do I contact?

All TCU users will login with their TCU network login credentials (The same you use for my.TCU).  Support for this is handled by TCU IT department. Students can call 817-257-5855 or go to https://password.tcu.edu to reset their password.

I’m a TA/GA, have special access to a course or am involved in a study abroad or internship course.  How do I access the TCU Online shell?

For TCU Online
Students with special access to a course, either with special term dates, or authoring abilities or enrollments due to special circumstances, can access their courses my.tcu.edu or at d2l.tcu.edu

I’m a non-degree seeking student.  How do I access the LearningStudio or TCU Online shell for my course?

Non-degree seeking students should go to http://d2l.tcu.edu to access the course(s).  All users will login will use their TCU network login credentials (the same you use for my.TCU).
