Class and User Progress Indicators

Four Indicators of Progress

In each course instructors can select four indicators of progress for which they can use to monitor how students are performing in their class. These progress indicators can be easily changed or reordered through Settings. Each indicator has a visualization to highlight overall progress, recent activity, and calls attention to areas of concern, so instructors can develop plans for getting students on track.

Indicators

Instructors can hover over a visualization to get more details for the four indicators they have chosen. Clicking an indicator allows instructors to drill into the details of tool progress for the student in the course, and is an entry point into the User Progress tool where they can look at summaries and details of tools, navigating between users and courses if they have permission. The indicators below show the view as one of the four indicators in Class progress or the more detailed summary in User Progress.

Assignments Performance Summary

The Assignments Performance Summary indicates the current average on all submission folders as well as a visualization of the scores of the last 15 items. Hover over each bar for additional details about the folders.

Checklist Completion Summary

The Checklist Completion Summary indicator displays how the learner is progressing through the assigned course checklists. Highlighted items indicate items that are due within the next 7 days.Checklist displays how far the student has progressed through the checklists in the course. Items due within the next 7 days are highlighted and represents where they could be.

Content Completion Summary

The Content Completion Summary indicator shows how many required content topics each student has completed.

Content Visited Summary

The Content Visited Summary indicator shows how many content topics each student has accessed by navigating within the Content tool. If users navigate to an activity outside of the Content tool (for instance, by using the navbar) it does not count as a visit.

Course Access Progress

Displays the number of days accessing the course within 30 days and the last date student accessed the course. Hovering over each bar provides date of course access.

Discussion Participation Summary

The Discussion Participation Summary indicator presents user statistics for reading, posting, and responding to discussions.

Grades Performance Summary

The Grades Performance Summary indicator presents the current final grade for the student, as well as a visualization of the scores of the last 15 items. Hovering over each bar provides additional details for the grades.

Login History ( Last 30 days )

Login History displays the number of logins to the system each day for the last 30 days.and summed as a total. Hovering over each bar provides details of each column, including date and number of sessions.

Quiz Performance Summary

The Quiz Performance Summary indicator presents the current average on all quizzes as well as a visualization of the scores of the last 15 items. Hovering over each bar provides additional details for the quiz.

Survey Completion Summary

The Survey Completion Summary indicator displays the student’s progression through the assigned surveys in the course.
