Preview Visible Rubrics Prior to Posting a New Thread

Option 1: Preview Rubric within Discussion Tool

If students access a discussion topic through a content module, students can see a link to the associated rubric within the Discussion topic description.

  1. On the nav bar, click the Activities menu, then select Discussions.

  2. Select the Discussion topic from the Discussions list to view full details.
  3. Click the rubric title to preview the rubric.

Option 2: Preview Rubric within Content Tool

  1. On the nav bar, click Content.

  2. Select the module in the course containing the Discussion topic.
  3. Select the Discussion topic to view full details.
  4. Click the link for the Rubric. This is located above the Start New Thread button.

View the Published Graded Rubric and Feedback for the Discussion

Published graded rubrics for a Discussion Topic can be viewed from the Grades tool, Content tool, Discussion tool, and User Progress.

Option 1: View the Published Graded Rubric and Feedback from the Grades Tool

Once the instructor publishes the feedback, students can view the graded rubric and feedback under the Comments and Assessment column in the Grades tool.

  1. On the nav bar, click the Assessment menu, then select Grades.

  2. Click View Graded Rubric for the particular discussion.

Option 2: View the Published Graded Rubric and Feedback from the Content Tool

Students can see instructor feedback and a link to the graded rubric by accessing the discussion topic through the content module.

  1. On the nav bar, click Content.

  2. Select the module in the course containing the Discussion topic.
  3. Select the Discussion topic to view full details.
  4. Discussion feedback will display and students can click the rubric title to view the graded rubric.

Option 3: View the Published Graded Rubric and Feedback from the Discussion Tool

Students can view the graded rubric and feedback through the Discussion tool by selecting Rubric link on the Discussion topic page.

  1. On the nav bar, click the Activities menu, then select Discussions.

  2. Select the Discussion topic from the Discussions list to view full details.
  3. Discussion feedback will display and students can click the rubric title to view the graded rubric.

Option 4: View the Published Graded Rubric and Feedback from the Class Progress Tool

Students can view the graded rubric and feedback within the Class Progress tool, selecting Discussions, and expanding the “Topics” link within a particular forum followed by expanding the “Details link for a topic.

  1. On the nav bar, click the Assessment, then select Class Progress.

  2. Click Discussions on the left side of the screen.
  3. Click the Topics link for the particular forum.
  4. Click the Details link for the particular topic.
  5. Click the link for View Graded Rubric link.

  6. A pop-up window will display the graded rubric.
